You Love Me was a mixed bag of a novel。 Great in some parts, mainly the second half。 The first half could use some heavy editing, and there were definitely things that annoyed me about this book and the authors writing。However, I was happy to be back inside the crazy mind of Joe Goldberg。 Love him or hate him, I think most could agree that there is a little bit of Joe inside all of us。 Looking forward to the next book!
Toni DeMaio,
Just Wow! I adore this series!!Caroline Keynes is an outstanding writer。 Her talent is huge and her writing is intelligent, moving, exciting, and best is all, no one can predict her plot twists and turns。 How does she make me root for a serial killer? And I am beyond impressed he is now a reformed one!! Love to see his growth!! I will continue to read everything she writes and anticipate Joe’s next adventure!

Santino is still narrating this audiobook so I keep listening and will perhaps listen to the next one。 But the story is the worst of the 3 books。No more (view spoiler)[Love Quinn (hide spoiler)]。 (view spoiler)[Mary Kay (what kind of name is this ? Why was any of that needed? Then Joe goes to see Love, and she's turned into a completely different person from the Love that accepted him in the second book。 Why even have had her accept him for who he was if she didn't even mean it at all and literally felt the opposite? That's silly。 It made her wanting to free him from jail and somehow simultaneously get rid of him make literally zero sense。 In fact, there's no possible way for that to make any sense regardless。Then we have Seamus literally trying to murder Joe over Nomi with no evidence that Joe is even into her, and Nomi also thinking Joe was going for her with no evidence。 I get that it's called a plot twist for a reason but eh。。。Then after 400 pages Mary Kay DIES because Nomi pushes her on the hardwood floor and she slips and falls because of her socks。 Then one page later Joe is in Florida and is meeting a new woman at his new bookstore。 Facepalm。 It was all so random because it was perfectly paced and perfectly plotted out in the beginning and middle so wtf。。。It really made me ask myself, so then what was the point of all this? I got so invested in this for 400 pages only for it to all end in the blink of an eye--after dragging me around on a totally unnecessary subplot too--with poor Mary Kay DYING。 Joe doesn't even get to see his son once。 All in all there was no payoff and a lot of gaping plot holes and things that made zero sense on the way there。 I know I'm not the writer of Joe's universe but I refuse to accept that Mary Kay died。 In my own ending, in my head, they ended up together and happy, or else he ended up happy with Love, because after all she is the only woman who fully knows him。 。。。more

Should I be worried that I love Joe as much as I love Dexter?! Another super fun installment of YOU! 4。25⭐️。 Better than the second, not as great as the first in this twisted series。
Melissia Aubin-przybyla,
Joe has been a bad guy。 But he meets Mary Kay and is determined to be better。 And he is better in this book。 Joe finally finds happiness, someone to love and love him back。 He sure gets beat up along the way。 I hope joe will get his son back in the next book。
Sophie Kovacs,
Will this story ever have an ending or is the author just going to keep going so she can get more netflix series? All three books have been the same with name changes and the appearance children。
Tabay,
I both read and listened to the book because Santino Fontina is the real voice of Joe for me。 There was some repetition and similarities in this 3rd installment but I don’t care because I love Joe and I laughed out loud, shit my eyes and audibly gasped several times。。I just love Joe!

3。5/5, rounding down。 Mild spoilers ahead。 It is a mystery to me how I can so thoroughly enjoy something while also thinking it is very。。。。 not good。 This book is not good, but it is fun! & until the end, I think I actually liked it better than #2, Hidden Bodies。 The good: It was interesting that, unlike in the previous 2 books, Joe doesn't really kill anyone, but he doesn't exactly not kill anyone either。 I found myself kind of rooting for Joe, which was a weird feeling。 As in the previous two 3。5/5, rounding down。 Mild spoilers ahead。 It is a mystery to me how I can so thoroughly enjoy something while also thinking it is very。。。。 not good。 This book is not good, but it is fun! & until the end, I think I actually liked it better than #2, Hidden Bodies。 The good: It was interesting that, unlike in the previous 2 books, Joe doesn't really kill anyone, but he doesn't exactly not kill anyone either。 I found myself kind of rooting for Joe, which was a weird feeling。 As in the previous two books, the writing was great。 The bad: Despite really liking the writing overall, there were a number of recurring cringey things ("Mothball," "Meerkat," "Lemonhead," "Murakami," etc。), which definitely dimished my enjoyment of the book a bit。 I also wasn't a bit fan of the ending - although it definitely sets us up for another installment in the series, which I will undoubtedly also read。 。。。more

Two things:There is a splendid in-joke in this novel, a Lemonheads song (and album title) that the author didn’t explicitly use:“It’s a Shame About Ray”。 (Quinn)I think I am going to go listen to it now。 That album was the soundtrack to my grad school days。And two: I really don’t like Mary Kay。

He is so creepy and hilarious & just the villain you can’t help but love and root for。 I loved the first book the second was okay but this one was great! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 'You Love Me' picks up where Hidden Bodies left off。 Joe Goldberg finds himself on a new island with new neighbors, and new love interest- mother/librarian Mary Kay DiMarco。 Of course, he's going to have his share of obstacles- the feminist best friend, the has-been rocker husband, and the watchful eyes of the Love Quinn's family。 I'll be honest。 The first novel is undoubtedly my favorite。 One of the things I loved about the first novel was the juxtaposition between Joe's charming commentary and 'You Love Me' picks up where Hidden Bodies left off。 Joe Goldberg finds himself on a new island with new neighbors, and new love interest- mother/librarian Mary Kay DiMarco。 Of course, he's going to have his share of obstacles- the feminist best friend, the has-been rocker husband, and the watchful eyes of the Love Quinn's family。 I'll be honest。 The first novel is undoubtedly my favorite。 One of the things I loved about the first novel was the juxtaposition between Joe's charming commentary and his horrific actions。 This time around? Joe's trying to be on his best behavior winning the love interest "the right way。" And yes, he breaks into a house, has a "Whisper Room", but Joe otherwise seems to be a victim of circumstance。 Bodies pile up, but not as a result of his direct actions。 Would they have met the pointy end of Rachel Ray (Joe's nickname for his murder knife) if things played out differently? Maybe。 I don't know。 Three books in, and certain plot points start to feel formulaic。 Joe gets himself into sticky situations, but if he were in an RPG he'd have a 100+ luck stat。 You kind of realize he's going to come out the other side unscathed, and that's when the suspense fizzles out。 I hope Kepnes can wrap up the story and go back to Joe's murderous roots in the 4th book, but that remains to be seen。 There are other small gripes I have (didn't feel much chemistry was there between Joe and Mary Kay, certain twists, most of the action happening in the last 20% of the book, Love's role。。。。) but I'm still going to read the next one and see where it goes。 。。。more

Joe Goldberg is the unluckiest human to ever live。 Death surrounds him, follows him like a cloud, IT IS EVERYWHERE。 In this book, he manages to abstain from killing anyone, but death is still hot on his heels。 Suicide, homicide (committed by someone else for once!), accidental--it's all here。 The main problem I have with this book is that there really isn't much of a story。 The constant death overshadows everything and I spent the entire book just waiting until another death cropped up (it doesn Joe Goldberg is the unluckiest human to ever live。 Death surrounds him, follows him like a cloud, IT IS EVERYWHERE。 In this book, he manages to abstain from killing anyone, but death is still hot on his heels。 Suicide, homicide (committed by someone else for once!), accidental--it's all here。 The main problem I have with this book is that there really isn't much of a story。 The constant death overshadows everything and I spent the entire book just waiting until another death cropped up (it doesn't take long)。 So many of these characters are such shitty people, you really don't care that much when they croak。 Actually, everyone besides Mary Kay SUCKS。 Or is that just Joe's perception of them and since we're seeing everything through his eyes, that's our perception of them, too? I don't know。 I do know that I have extreme Joe fatigue。 His entire existence is an exhausting lie (one right after the other) that I found fairly amusing in the first two books, but now just kind of drives me insane because he literally NEVER tells the truth。 It's understandable (all those murders!) that he can't reveal who he truly is, but still。 The end of this book neatly paves the way for the next one which I will read because I need to see this through, but I have a sinking feeling it's just going to be more of the same。 。。。more

The emotions I felt reading this book。 The complete CHAOS that Joe went through in this book!! WOW!! I don't even know where I should begin。 I'll start with his child and the entire premise of the last book。 I really expected Love to play a bigger role in this story。 When the story started and Joe was starting over again, I was kind of disappointed。 I enjoyed Love's character (In the show moreso than the book), and I thought it would be interesting to see him as a father and a husband to Love。 The fact that he ended up almost getting killed by her wasn't surprising in the least, but it seemed random?? Like I feel as if it was a scene that would definitely take place in the show but not the book。 If you're gonna have her completely disappear because she sent him away after he got out of prison, she should've stayed away。 I was getting used to her just being a backdrop and a guilty weight on Joe's conscience。 But, the fact that she randomly summoned him right when things were good for him, is also fitting I suppose。 I also just feel bad for her because she was just as crazy as Joe and honestly they deserved eachother, but you can't expect someone to deny a contract from a family with plenty of money and access to hired hit men。 I just think that was a little unrealistic。 But the fact that they mentioned she was dealing with some mental stuff post-partum pretty much cleared that up, like oh yeah thats right I ALSO went crazy after I had my son, LOL。 I think she deserved better though, and her family is so screwed up for how they handled the whole scene。Now lets talk about the main character: JOE。 Yes, we know。 He has a messed up past。 He's a serial killer。 But for SOME REASON。。 I always end up rooting for him。 And with this book in particular, I was ABSOLUTELY on his side。 He really was trying to be better。 Of course he was still a creep。 The night time house watching, the cameras he put up in MKs house, the way he was purposely trying to draw her to him。 But, I think he was definitely a whole lot less creepy in this book than in the others。 And it seemed like he actually had good intentions。 I really felt for him in the end, he really lost something good and it wasn't even his fault (a first)。 Now I wanna talk about the side characters。 I absolutely HATED Melanda。 She was the epitome of the worst human being。 She made her opinions her entire personality and was a TERRIBLE friend all around。 Not only was she always trying to tear down someone who was her best friend, but she also SLEPT with her HUSBAND。 I knew right off the bat she wouldn't live to the end of the book, but the way it happened was not what I thought。 I think that Joe might have actually let her go, until she decided to end her life herself。 She really was a miserable person who probably would have ended up going that route anyways (if she wasn't such a narcissist)。 Seamus was literally the worst。 It was like Kepnes said 'who are the worst kind of people' and then created melanda, a raging feminist with a huge mouth and a bad attitude, and a gym buff douche who thinks hes too good for everyone around him。 I had a feeling he was a creep, because to be honest, the personality fit the bill。 But, I didn't think he was a pedophile。 OR a murderer for that matter。 Seems like Joe has finally found someone worse than himself! Oliver was horrible。 He was a user, and he only looked out for himself。 It really seems like Joe can't trust anyone。 He was just always there, bugging the crap out of me, the reader, and even moreso- the poor guy he's stalking。 Another character, the Rat himself。 He was abusive, manipulative, and just a horrible all around guy。 He was also a narcissist, famous for writing songs about how his wife basically ruined his life by giving him a child。 I also knew he wouldn't last, but again, I was surprised at the fact that it was ALSO at his own hand。 Can't say I was too disappointed there。 Now I wanna talk about Mary Kay herself。 I wanted to punch her in the face SO many times。 She was exactly how I would imagine RIP Beck being in her later years。 She was SO indecisive, never knew what she wanted, and was really stringing SO many people along。 She was sick of her husband, so she played Joe。 Made him think she was single。 Literally seduced him。 And then pushed him away because her husband would play nice for a day。 She would then say its over! then they would make it work。 "For my child" Yeah right。 She was hot and cold the WHOLE book, but it was even more infuriating than when Beck did it because this woman is older, and has a CHILD!! you would think those two things would coincide with RESPONSIBILITY! but she is just as confused and misguided as the other girls that Joe would fall for。 Joe really has bad taste in women。 But, I feel like karma gets her back, and its not at Joe's hand- again, SHOCKINGLY so! Aaaaand。。。。 Meerkat。 I will call her this because I have no idea how to spell her name and I listened to the Audiobook so Meerkat she is。 Meerkat was how we saw her through Joe's eyes: A little girl who needed a good father figure。 But what she really was: well。。。 a girl who needed a good father figure, but not in the way you'd think!! Just when I'm finally content that Joe will get his happy ending, OF COURSE!! Joe attracts another crazy。 Meerkat is thirsty for some Joe。 I could NOT believe this when it happened。 My heart physically broke。 Joe is trying so hard to be a better person, be a good stepfather, be a good man for Mary Kay, even when she is trying to seduce him, all he can think about is how she found her own father dead and must be hurting。 And yeah, she did。 But it seems she was messed up a long time before that since she was screwing her mom's "best friend"。 I wanted a happy ending for them all。 I wanted Joe and MK to be happy together, I wanted Meerkat to go to college and break out of her shell。 I wanted the best for them all because I think on some level its what each of them needed in different ways。 But life really has a way of kicking you in the shin。。。 or down the stairs of the basement。 My overall synoposis of this story is that Joe will never be happy。 Even when he has it all, it never works out。 Even when he keeps his hands clean, he still ends up covered in blood。 And I think that THAT would've been the perfect way to end the story。 But no。 HERE WE GO AGAIN!! Joe has started over for the 4th time now, and he falls in love with the VERY first woman he sees, and then the cookie crumbles all over again。 *Sighs* and I suppose I'm here for it。 。。。more
